Indicate the Date for Opening of Building at GHMCH, Tirumangalam - Madras HC says Govt.

    tirumangalam
Madurai:The Madras High Court Bench here on Wednesday expressed its displeasure over the State Government not having inaugurated a new building constructed at Government Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital at Thirumangalam
near here despite the construction having been completed in April last year and the building handed over to the college authorities in June this year.

Passing interim orders on a public interest litigation petition, a Division Bench of Justices K.K. Sasidharan and G.R. Swaminathan directed the Health Secretary to file an affidavit by July 27 indicating the date on which the building would be inaugurated. The judges warned that the Secretary would have to appear in court on August 1 if he fails to file the affidavit. During the course of arguments, Mr. Justice Sasidharan wondered why should a building meant for treating in-patients as well as out patients should be kept idle for such a long time despite the construction having been completed more than a year ago. Later, he passed the interim orders in the presence of the College Principal, P. Radhamani, who had been summoned to find out the reason for the delay.
